What is the difference between the standard and rec-series vacuum splints?

Standard splints (Bein, Ellenbogen, Unterarm) are made entirely from soft PAX-Flex Tec MP material and can be 3D pre-formed by connecting the lower clip buckles. Rec-series splints have a robust PAX-Tec Plus MP underside for durability and a soft PAX-Flex Tec MP patient side; they use click-buckle (Steckschnallen) fixation straps for faster patient securing.

Can fixation straps be replaced?

Yes. All PAX vacuum splints feature replaceable fixation straps. A dedicated replacement strap set for the rec-series (Art. 165121110) is available.

Which pump should be used with the vacuum splints?

Both the PAX Hand Pump (Art. 270890003) and the PAX Foot Pump (Art. 273130003) are compatible with the vacuum splints.

The PAX Vacuum Splint range provides pre-hospital limb immobilization for arm, forearm, elbow, and leg. Two series are available: the standard series (Ellenbogen/Bein/Unterarm) made entirely from soft PAX-Flex Tec MP material, and the reinforced rec-series (rec-Arm/rec-Bein/rec-Gelenk) with a robust PAX-Tec Plus MP underside and soft PAX-Flex Tec MP patient side for faster anatomical contouring. Standard splints can be 3D pre-formed by connecting lower buckles before application. Replaceable fixation straps with click buckles secure the splint to the patient. All individual splints and sets are medical devices compliant with EU MDR 2017/745. Both a standard set and a rec-series set (each including a transport bag) are available for space-efficient storage in the ambulance.
